Meet the Fernie’s. This is Carter.

Born and raised in Toronto, Carter has grown up immersed in the world of homes, neighbourhoods, and real estate. Having lived in six different homes in the Kingsway, she understands firsthand the excitement, emotion, and evolution that come with moving, and brings that lived perspective into everything she does.

Carter is currently working through the real estate courses required to become licensed and spends her days shadowing her parents, Justine and Sean, learning the business from the inside out. From attending showings and open houses to meeting local agents and gaining exposure to negotiations, marketing, and client care, she is building a strong foundation rooted in real-world experience and mentorship. Not everyone gets to say they hang out with their parents every day, but Carter considers it a privilege and a front-row seat to two people she deeply respects.

With a grandfather who is a successful architect, Carter’s eye for design, layout, and space was shaped early, fostering a natural appreciation for thoughtful architecture and well-considered homes. Carter graduated from Western University in June 2024 with a degree in Psychology, a background that enhances her natural ability to connect with people, understand motivation, and navigate the emotional side of buying and selling.

Following graduation, Carter spent time travelling the world with her partner, an experience that broadened her perspective, fueled her independence, and solidified her desire to build a career centered around people, places, and possibility.

Known for her energy, warmth, and quiet determination, Carter is excited to begin her real estate journey and carve out her own path, while contributing meaningfully to the Fernie & Co. team and the clients they proudly serve.

We were lucky enough to attend a Real Madrid game

We were lucky enough to attend a Real Madrid game in Madrid a few weeks ago. One of us is a huge sports fan, and one of us is not 🤭 That said, even I was curious to attend a football (soccer) game in a city that goes nuts for their team.

The experience did not disappoint!! We thought because Real Madrid was facing a team that wasn’t doing so well that perhaps it wouldn’t be a full stadium. We were wrong!! 84,000 people were there screaming and shouting ther support (and disdain when a call was made they didn’t agree with).

Renovations to Stadium Bernabeu were recently completed. On the exterior it looks like a spaceship!! The interior was very bare bones. They don’t serve alcohol and there are 3 food options you can choose from. The Rogers Centre is luxe in comparison!

We also couldn’t believe the police security surrounding the stadium. Police on horses, in cars…a police transport truck!! Streets shut down and armed police guarding everywhere you looked.

The game itself was kind of boring (sorry!!!) but the experience was one for the books. I loved the anthem played too-suuuuuper dramatic!! I’d 💯 recommend attending a game if you have the chance!!

Gaudi’s famous church, the Sagrada Familia, has been under construction for 143 years! I have to say, they have made huge, massive progress since I was last there.

In 1994 there were two facades…now there is a whole church, complete with the most unimaginable stained glass.

The multicoloured light you see on the next photos were reflections created purely from natural light shining through (at golden hour!!).

It was overwhelming and sheer beauty. I could go on and on and on about it…but I’ll leave it here ❤️✨❤️
