Today is the fifth anniversary of my widowmaker heart attack. Looking back it feels like seconds ago and hundreds of years ago at the same time.

I replay the events of March 20, 2020 over and over in my head. I think about the doctors who saved my life (Dr. Kutryk and Dr. Anselm) and the nurses who helped me to get through the experience, hour by hour (Tiffany, Rae, Jasmine, Hazel and Stefanie). I think about how I felt before, during and after the event. I think of how my mental health was affected by the experience. I think about PTSD and fear. But I now also think about living and pushing through. I think about joy and love.

This photo is the pill box purchased when I got home from the hospital. It has a permanent place on our kitchen counter. It represents good things-our medical system and all those brilliant minds who find ways to heal us.

For the fifth year in a row, I just completed a simulated ride up the volcano Haleakala in Maui. It’s comprised of five one-hour up hill rides on my @onepeloton , culminating in today’s ride to the peak of the volcano-today I was joined by my sister, @cliftonhill.co. The felt her support and strength during that ride today!!

The rides never get easier and neither does thinking about the heart attack. What it has taught me is that I am a survivor and I’m much tougher than I ever thought I was. I am in the best shape I’ve pretty much ever been in in my life. I know the value now of living in the moment. I understand how important it is to experience things now-there is no reason to wait.

In a strange, strange way, I do think I’ve become a better person because of this experience. Don’t get me wrong-I would not wish it on my worst enemy, nor would I ever want to go through it again. It has changed my perspective on life, for the better. And on that note, I’ll make a donation to @heartandstroke right now ❤️❤️❤️

Shane and Carter have made their way to Vienna! They took my 30 year old advice and got standing room tickets to the Vienna Opera House tonight! They dressed up as much as two backpackers could and watched the spectacle.

Apparently the opera was new and odd and used AI? Regardless, it was a cool experience for them.

Ah, to be young again. Seeing and experiencing the world is truly the best education.

And just like that, 25 Bernard Avenue is now closed. From full staging to full closing in less than two weeks, to call this one a whirlwind would be the understatement of the century!!

We are so excited for both the sellers and the buyers. It really is such a fabulous home in an unbeatable location, and with the melt happening this week, the new buyers will actually be able to make use of both of their parking spots there!! The whole sale/destaging happened during alllll the snow. We couldn’t even find a place to put up our sign (which was fine because we would have had to take it right down anyway).
