The original light fixture we chose for our front

The original light fixture we chose for our front hall was pretty, but waaaaaay undersized. My parents suggested replacing it with @kellywearstler’s large Strada light fixture. Last night we had it installed and it’s incredible. The soft light and shadows are perfect in the space.

The third photo is proof of just how difficult the installation was. It was my cousin, Sean, and my husband, Sean, up on two ladders, balancing the heavy fixture on a tea towel on Sean’s head. I kept yelling, “Be careful of the spikes and your eyes, Sean!” Then I realized that they are both Sean, so my warning worked perfectly.

The white oak hardwood throughout our new house was beautiful, but it was sun damaged and we weren’t fond of the high gloss finish. We hired @smithwoodfloors to sand and refinish the floors throughout. I was nervous about the process and how the floors would turn out. As is turns out, it was one of the best changes we made! We opted not to stain the floors once sanded and finished them with a new product which is a satin, naked finish. We couldn’t be happier with the result-it’s a much more modern looking floor. We spent several days in Longboat Key, Florida, last week and had a great time. To say Florida is hot in the summer is an understatement! It felt like 117 degrees on our last day! With that said, the weather was in our favour with tons of sun during the day and the most outrageous electrical storms at night.
